To Larry and squetch,

Very interesting posts. I suppose one key factor will be the type of mechanism the antibiotic employs to fight infection. Most new abx's
have been using only slightly different ways using the same basic approach to fight bacteria. . I'm not familiar with the methods and goals for these two new drugs.

I understand that MCDE is only pursuing completely new approaches with the belief that this could result in a lasting ABX to fight these resistant strains. They do have very solid backing from Pfiser, and two other large drug companies and are using a rational approach in addition to the traditional empirical one.

It think they are a little behind schedule because of extra time that was required to get enough testing material in pure form. Once ABX clinical trial start, however, they usually go fast because of the excellent correspondence between in vitro and in vivo results

What do you guys think about consolidating the thread to the one
that shows as an option when the SI MCDE chart is pulled up.
It looks like Reed started this thread but I haven't ever seen a post from him.

The one with the chart is called " MCDE-breakout stock"..
a phrase I hope will be appropriate in the future. That way one can check out the chart and also click on the stock talk thread on one screen.

John O Diversification would be a plus.
