I believe there's a significant and growing majority of atmospheric scientists who believe our activities can and do impact climate change, and that we will be served well by taking action sooner rather than later. The concurrence is generally that, by 2050, we need to have ramped up to generate as much power in the form of renewables as we consume globally today. The trouble is, that won't be easy. As in, we'll need the "man on the moon" scale project.

I doubt that companies will get us there voluntarily, so we'll have to actually decide as a society to pursue this. But why wait?
