It’s official. Silicon Investor is in shambles. I can’t imagine the confusion of new members who do a quote search under the Tools drop down menu and find SI provides zilch to them. Not all will have visited the Welcome New SI Members board and will be aware that the only quotes that are available are on ticker related boards. In fact, existing members, who have no reason to visit the Welcome New SI Members board, probably aren’t aware of Dmitry’s post there announcing the change in financial data services provider. That’s certainly a new feature, but he chose not to inform SI members of it on the New Feature Discussion board. Perhaps, he’s still shell shocked from the grenades members threw his way a few years ago when he unveiled widely unpopular new features on that board. Nevertheless, there’s no excuse for him to still be fiddling with this latest change or to have stopped fiddling with it, whichever is the situation, without cleaning up that drop down menu to reflect the fact that quotes cannot be had there. That’s just sloppy, lazy administration. If Silicon Investor is forced by declining revenues to cut back services, so be it; but it would take only a small amount of Dmitry’s time to clean up the coding. I don’t know how he expects members to stay on board when he shows so little interest in the web site.
