Pete - Re: "a personal disfavor with LCDs (they always seem to be concave to me)."

This phenomenon was first observed about 10 or 12 years ago when Zenith introduced their Flat Tension Mask CRTs - which were dead flat - like today's Sony Wega TVs.

Most people are accustomed to the convex surfaces of "standard" CRTs and a flat CRT = or a flat LCD - at first appears concave.

My main display is an 18.1 inch Sony LCD - and it is fantastic. Now, a regular CRT appears VERY CONVEX !
