sometimes big companies layoff people to make their bottom lines look better for shareholders, then when things go for a shit they have to hire back critical employee's they really should not have got rid of in the first place, My sister worked for a National broadcast company they decided to get rid of some people by laying off and asking if some wanted early retirement. My sister decided to take early retirement they gave her severance and would pay for any course she wanted to take. After about a year they asked her to come back her old department was a mess so she went back under her terms.
