It used to be that the CNBC talking heads could not own individual stocks, other than GE in their retirement accounts. Yet over the past few months I have heard a few of them hint that they do own stocks, and in fact Mark Haines just now specifically said he owned a certain stock that a guest mentioned.

Why the change? Was that restriction perhaps one of the reason they have lost some good people?

Just curious...
