Just a quick note - and thats difficult for me!! - was interested in
Dauntless' comment re: how management can kill the best technology. In Sedona's case the significant technology came out of a non-commercial development framework - education - gov. agency- therefore they have perhaps a greater need to develop commercialization management than one might normally expect at this stage.

Commercialization is a problem facing the entire GIS community as they attempt to show corporations the advantages of visual based analysis, - planning, and problem solving. This is particularly so as they develop and move into internet and intranet driven - object oriented database systems. Sedona's contribution to this is basically in the geo-data area - physical attributes - conversion and manipulation - as I understand it. On one side they have to sell the corporations on it.

On the other side is government- and another reason for their technology personnell expansion - is the business potential embodied in NIMA's participation in the OGC and the ongoing (spiral process) standards development. This company threw 50k at a principal membership because there is very big money in gov agency budgets for maps and map technology. We would be remiss to underestimate both the potential as well as the need for very professional company management - to pay close attention as big companies involved in GIS begin doing alignment maneuvers. Again I believe late April will be our first inkling of how close Sedona is to an inside track. Probably G Gray already knows.

Mr. Mulshine - who I don't know from Mr. Dan Lanza - told me months ago that he had no idea why Mr. Lanza had such a dim view of him. As investors we tend to interpret information in often unique fashion. There are definitely folks who feel that Mike Mulshine has portrayed SCNG - of which he owns a huge share - in a fashion which runs more to promise than substance. Mr. Lanza may be one of them. But what else can Mulshine really say about Sedona except 'promises of the future stuff'??

We are all sitting here (including him) and looking a bunch of gourmet chefs with dynamite ingredients down at Sedona - who think we will be eating an outrageous cake by fall. Thats a terrible analogy - but when push comes to shove - thats all we have of "substance" right now!!

This is High Risk - High Reward country - and there is no other legitimate way to look at it. It is my hope Mr. Lanza - that you will focus your "Bear Eyes" on the technological and market acceptance aspects of this company's products - and accept that we all understand that human error and sometimes 'dreaded hype' creeps into the 'gospel according to the PR department'.

As to the new Prez - We don't get to know much - So maybe we should keep our eyes on the technology - cause thats where the money is going.

Feelin' good - and Feelin' warm in the sun at 44 degrees today -
