You have evidently not studied physics to any depth at all, or forgotten some very important stuff here. That is "consistent" for you? You are not looking at the system (bullet plus jfk) as a whole.

Hamiltonians Canonical Equations describe "the many bodied problem" in great detail. The exploding egg you referenced can be studied the same way. An artillery shell exploding in the air is the usual cited example.

You cannot just take one bit of the egg, (like the side where the bullet entered) without referencing all of the rest of the egg. You have to consider the egg as a whole, even when it's exploded into bits. Momentum is still conserved, as is the velocity of the many parts before air resistance is considered. Velocity is a vector, it has both speed and direction.

You look at one part without any reference to the energy of the system as a whole. It does not suit your pedestrian view of the world.
