Thanks for the encouraging words, and the advice about the ice. Along with taking Advil, he's pretty anal about icing and has been doing so regularly since we got home yesterday. The doc said it will be about 10 days before the swelling is completely gone, and then she'll be better able to decide what's what depending on pain, swelling (if any) and over all comfort zone for him when she does those twisty, movey things she does. I have a friend that might be interested in going to Utah with me. I haven't asked hubby if I should broach the subject with her because I've been so busy running errands for him. Out to Safeway to get crutches. Down to docs to see her. Over to library to pick up books he ordered last week. Down to Top Food pharmacy for anti-inflammatory. I'll mention it later and see what he says. Want to be very diplomatic about it so as not to hurt his feelings.

I just managed to get a bite to eat for the first time today and actually treated myself to a maple bar for dessert because I was feeling so sorry for myself. Haha. That is a pretty cheap happiness elixir eh?

And so sorry to hear about your knee. I haven't had surgery for so many yrs that I forget how miserable it can be post surgery. And getting a joint replaced has to take months and months of recovery afterwards. But isn't it all worth it when you finally do get over the initial shock? I've heard people say they are so glad they did it and would do it all over again if they had to.

And I'm wondering if hubby will eventually have to get his knees replaced. He's complained about the pain for yrs. That fall yesterday could be the beginning of that process for him.
