MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 2001-- Tekelec (Nasdaq: TKLC - news) today announced an order from Verizon Network Services for a pair of EAGLE® signal transfer points (STPs) with local number portability (LNP) capability.
The EAGLE STPs will be deployed in the Verizon's domestic wireline telecommunications network, which provides national SS7 signaling and LNP capability to 33 million households in 67 of the top 100 U.S. markets.
In 1998, the company (then Bell Atlantic) was the first service provider in the world to deploy LNP in its network.
