As I understood what happened was that Fannie and Freddie
lost a bundle on derivatives, and then they were saved by
the Fed. That means banks won that bundle.

That's pretty funny - you can always bet on leveraged
derivatives, cause if you win, you get paid. But if you
lose, the taxpayer will pay what you owe. You pay taxes
on what you won, but hey! Isn't that worth it? This is what
happened this August and September. I'd like to be
a major bank, it's cool! The Tax man only comes and takes
from me, never gives me anything back, except in case he
took too much.
