AOL Ad revenues:

Interesting story from my wife who is an executive at a major ISV in the financial area. One facet of my wife's job is to negotiate advertising with major Internet web software distributors. Obviously she is quite aware of what the going rates are. Anyway, the number she was given by AOL was so out of touch with reality that she just about fell out of her seat!

Neeedless to say, she won't even be giving them a counter-offer. She'll just sit and wait for their sales guys to come back and negotiate against themselves. She figures their number was about 300% too high.

I think Steve Case has a serious delusions about the value of the "eyeballs that they bring to the table" as they said in the meeting.
