Pilot Install is a vital tool for anyone who uses a PalmPilot or
any of its compatibles. It allows you to quickly install PalmPilot
programs without having to sit through lengthy HotSync sessions.
Not only does it eliminate HotSync tasks, you won't have to bother
clicking through Palm's desktop application. You can install
programs individually, or upload multiple programs simultaneously.
Pilot Install is such a simple Windows program that it uses no DLL
files and doesn't have to be installed. You can run it right after
the download, and immediately add applications to your handheld.
Once you press the button on your PalmPilot, you'll notice that
your downtime is cut in half.
You'll have the option of making Palm Install the default
installation tool, so you can automatically bypass the desktop
application. Pilot Install supports all pertinent PalmOS file
formats, including PRC, PDB and PQA. After you've selected the
file you want to install, you can choose the appropriate COM port.
You can also select a baud rate with speeds that range from 9600
to 256000. During the installation process, Pilot Install will
indicate the current upload status.
