you are incredibly naive. avnt is eating cdn's lunch. killing them in all the cutting edge apps. cdn cant stand the fact that all their top employees left and started their own company. from what ive heard from process design sw engineers in the valley who know these people , cdn treated them rather badly , overwork , underpay , attempted to take advantage of them. cdn got what they deserved. sw is a fast-paced business. the code fragments which appear the same are not what gives avnt its edge anyway. and they've probably rewritten that code by now to be safe.

why arent customers jumping ship? why is cdn itself working with avnt on compatibility layers for their products if avnt is doomed?

i dont think you know anything about soes bandits. in most instances, its just some term uninformed people like to throw around on these forums because they have no understanding of what is going on. like blaming the "market makers" for everything that goes against you. pure cry baby.

cdn is getting their ass kicked so they chose to foul the other player. smart move but it wont save them long run. intellectual property is a rather complex area of the law. you're trashing a very successful business based on some rather vague and poorly understood yet to be heard court case. do you really think a judge will put jail time on a group of highly successful brilliant contributors to the national economy because fragments of computer code were found in their products which previously existed in another companies' products? remember, these are the men who wrote the code in the first place. did xerox get anything out of apple? did apple get anything out of microsoft? NO.

11 out the 12 "dirty dozen" process design sw engineers in the world work at avnt. betting against them is very stupid.
