William,
You would have to believe that the new CEO at Borland is an idiot
or a crook to short Borland now. The book value on the stock is
around $5, all cash and real estate. Borlands's main product right
now is Delphi, which is vastly superior to the only competition.
A good friend of mine works at Borland and has talked to the CEO.
Word is, Borland will either get bought out or turn around from here.
Near-term, I expect the range will remain $5 - $7.50. You could short
above $7, but I doubt Borland will trade below book. The fat has
been trimmed. Long-term investors can buy.
