Good evening to all on a Friday night - from a place where the first three baseball games of the year are played in the snow - one down - two to go!!

Having heard back from SCNG on my questions re: the relative significance of the late filing issue - there does not seem to be a cash flow problem associated with it. To paraphrase the spokesman - it is an accounting issue related to valuation - and not being an accountant I am not at all sure where this impacts a financial statement, pro forma, or profit and loss statement. The filing extension request explanation - says it could have a very negative impact on the financial statement - it doesn't say it could have a negative effect on the overall company or its plans. (But gee - even a bad cash problem ain't the end of the world - look at Clinton.) It obviously has a chance to impact investor thinking - but I don't see SCNG taking any PR mitigation measures to prepare us - The spokesman says they will do an associated press release - and that the serious investor will see this as a non-issue. OK - OK - I'm hip - bring it on Joe!!

I believe there is no unanticipated cash flow problems - Mr. Delle Donne told me they knew last year just about when they would need the big infusion - about the 3rd quarter - and he was very!!! specific and detailed about where it was all going. George Gray reiterated the same. In my opinion the revenue streams projected for Sedona are contingent upon developments in the GIS world that are critical for all associated corporations. We cannot afford to tie them too tightly to time frames - particularly since a huge player in their potential success is NIMA and associated government entities.

Marketing is ART.............

I am sure there will be plenty of press re: where the new $$ are going - and we will see that they are not asking for chump change to keep the doors open. Osterwise is now SCNG COO and the appointment of Colin Matthews to the Sed Prez is just another indication that Mr. O will soon be CEO. Looking at the track records of all the new personnel - they bring quite the variety of market outreach skills to SCNG. Indeed - Sedona has the rights to market what has been - non-commercial technology - therefore - and I become a broken record here - they have to do some serious commercial marketing - whether it is for inclusion into major software from ESRI and others - or to reach developers and writers - or just to educate the corporate world about Sedona's little corner of the GIS world - and how Scan Graphics and the TRC + Scanner division are ready to help them develop a fully integrated program.

Ahhhhhhhh.................Traveling Salesmen..................

When it is reduced down to the knowns - all my research has not turned up one iota of guaranteed success. All I have is confirmation after confirmation of Sedona's existence - operations - superior tech - a working plan - a market strategy - a presence near the cutting edge - and a very capable and experienced crew at every level - and As a lifelong commercial fisherman - I am totally familiar with that kind of situation.

When all the talk is over - you cast off the lines - leave the harbor - and go with what you've got. Without some measure of anticipation coupled with apprehension - life could be rather mundane.

Obligatory Marine Motif Poem

All aboard - the skipper says - we sail to parts unknown!
Best leave your doubt and fear ashore - along with the cellular phone.

The course we choose is similar now - to other ones chosen before -
But a helluva' lot can happen folks - 'tween here and the other shore!

Mutiny, Pirates, Storms, Be-calmed - wretched convertible debentures-
To feed a need -for the seed of greed - we chase the capital ventures.

The stout of heart and strong of will - may still feel loss and pain.
But only those who sail - my friends - can share in what we gain!
