With corporate headquarters in Montvale, N.J., A&P operates and/or supplies 649 stores in the United States and Canada under 11 retail banners, which include conventional supermarkets, food and drug combination stores, and discount food stores. A&P employs 78,000 associates. Annualized sales volume is approximately $11 billion. The Company's shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange, under the symbol "GAP."
The Company is structured as two business units. A&P U.S., based in Paterson, N.J., operates 456 stores in 10 states and the District of Columbia, supplied by seven regional distribution centers. A&P Canada, based in Toronto, Ontario, operates approximately 193 stores in that province, serviced by four distribution centers. A&P Canada also supplies approximately 42 franchised discount food stores.
The Company distributes private label product lines sold exclusively throughout its U.S. and Canadian banners.
