Next G8 Summit is here in Canada Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada, 26-28 June 2002 Other G7/G8 Summit Meetings Kananaskis Country, considered the the jewel of Alberta's parks, lies about an hour's drive west of Calgary and south of the Trans-Canada Highway. Calgary, the closest city to Kananaskis, is the sixth largest city in Canada with a population of over 860,000 and a land area of 720 square kilometers. Calgary will likely serve as the transportation and accommodation centre for the 2002 Summit. Kananaskis is famous for its golf courses. Those wanting to play golf here will be able to I'm sure.
