My take on the situation is that as the unemployment rate trends up the fed is more likely to increase the money supply, and that if the fed increases rapidly the trade off is that inflation may increase. I consider inflation to be of minimal concern right now. Having said that, 10% gold, diamonds, or other sorts of inflation hedges could well be a pretty good idea, right now.

You may be surprised at how leveraged those $Trillions are and how few $Billions can be taken out of the market to remove them completely.(I personally think AG *HAS* been surprised this last week.) There's a lot of pure paper out there.
