Goodness, Sydney, I have disagreed with Solon in the past, but I never remember him saying he did not believe in God...certain religion's, Christian or otherwise, interpretations perhaps...but never God.

Maybe it is just not your interpretation of God he believes in. Apologize if I put words in your mouth Solon...feel free to correct me.

Actually I do not believe in your interpretation of God, Sydney. I don't really believe in any current organized religious beliefs either, although there is some good in each of them...even though they all want lots of money, or your childrens' bodies as well as their souls or they want your wives, etc...and not just the Catholic Church, but many other Protestant and non Christian sects as well.

It seems to me that you spend your time looking to refute rather than to learn...try keeping an open mind and you may be surprised at what you find.

Rereading the Gnostic Gospels puts into perspective the early Christian Church and reminds us that all early organized religions are vulnerable to the vagaries and politics of those who are directing and divining them...

Interesting times that were probably not reported any more accurately than our present news.

Maybe it is us who need to replace our belief of God and not replace God.
