Work from home is valid when there are no kids and a nagging wife around.
It is only for very disciplined workers.

Secondly you loose in a way the corporate identity and culture that is extremely important to many types of business including the exchange of of view at the "water cooler" or "coffee machine"

The feeling of belonging to an organization is very motivating and work from home may be somewhat more productive for certain people but not as a whole.
