Mr. Softy may well get his ass handed to him. They think the trial is going their way, but the undercurrents are not good. Too much blood in the streets due to MSFT.
Do you think it is any coincidence that many companies that represented a threat to MSFT are out of business, or nearly so?
I have never, as a libertarian, believed in the possibility of a true monopoly. Most have been temporal anomalies. MSFT represents, due to the factors of the business they are in, the first true modern economic monopoly.
They know it, and they are using it to their advantage. MSFT competitors are being battered now, but expect that to change abruptly. The judge here isn't a complete moron, though MSFT seems to think so.
