hi ally you're certainly welcome for the powerquest info. and thank you for the kind words regarding the thread. <g> looking back at your initial post, i see that you have asked good questions that we have not thoroughly addressed.... "Can I use laplink? Should I restart Windows into DOS and use the DOS copy command? Or, is there Windows software for me to clone the new drive?" in the three-part question above, we have only talked about the part pertaining to cloning-type software. i don't have an answer to your first two questions, but we'd all benefit from knowing more, i'm sure. maybe we'll hear more input on the subject. <g3> keep in touch, ally :) mark
