Athens, Greece-based Terna Energy, a member of the GEK TERNA Group, has announced the commercial operations of its Fluvanna I Wind project in Scurry County, Texas.

With a total capacity of 155.4 MW, the wind farm is made up of 74 Siemens Gamesa turbines at 2.1 MW each. It will deliver power into the Texas grid and supply energy for more than 46,000 homes, says Terna Energy.

Terna Energy partnered with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, along with a consortium of banks, for funding of the $250 million project, the developer says. Construction began in December 2016 and was completed in under 12 months.

With the operation of Fluvanna I Wind, Terna Energy has a total installed U.S. wind capacity of 293 MW. The company also operates a 138 MW project in Elmore County, Idaho.
