Thomas, When a DRAM is tested, it goes through a gazillion tests, testing every timing spec, a lot of funny tests which would only matter to certain customers. If some of the timing is marginal, or poses a reliability risk, the company could easily peddle it off (off-spec parts). In fact, a lot of the memory in Micron Electronics computers are off-spec parts from, guess who!?! MU of course!
