JACK: Couldn't disagree with you more.
I don't have time to nit-pick through your comments, but there are just a few things I want to point out.
I have resreached this geek, Pulver. I have read articles quoting him and have been to his web-site, He constatly touts Vocaltec as the "standard" internet phone system. Based on his comments in the article I got off of Westlaw a(thus, I may not legally produce it here) and the Web page of his, it would not surprise me one bit if he did what they claim. Believe me, you do not file a cllaim in Federal Court if it has not merit--despite what the lay public thinks.
Second, your comment:
"I think many Internet users will see this as a vindictive use of the judical process, to try and get at a user by putting pressure on his Internet Service Provider, who obviously cannot be responsible for the data sent and received by their users."
This is absolutely ridiculous. The LAW is very clear t that the ISP is responsible for it's content. It is just like a newspaper that publishes and is held liable for the content in a similar manner.
I hope you take my criticism in the respectful manner in which they are intended, but I simply disagree.
On a sidenote, I just downloaded the Digiphone TV commercial AND a video clip demo of a digiphone conversation from planeteer.com
CHECK THESE OUT, THEY ARE REALLY WORTH THE WAIT --!!
The comercial is VERY cool and gets your attention for sure.
The demo is spectacular, in that I was not exactly aware of how thwe software works...it is great, your phone rings, you click the mouse on the screen and simply begin to talk -- there is no doubt about it, this will sell -- especially, especially, especially in the business market where you make a lot of longdistance call,s. Eitherway, thogugh, it was really neat.
Best regards,
