re: I was more then willing to let the weapons inspectors find out if there really was 5% of Saddam's WMD still outstanding

Not I, but then maybe this is why they had such a hard time finding things - still bugs me that Saddam did not more fully cooperate when he "didn't have anything" - just can't see any reason to hide "nothing".

I'm surprised......I thought you had more experience with foreign cultures.

Saddam was saving face. Can you imagine the reaction in the Arab world if Saddam kissed Bush's ass? He was destoying WMD on his time, not Bush's. And please, don't think for a moment that Bush didn't know why Saddam was acting the way he was. Bush went after Saddam not because he was sitting on a pile of WMD and was refusing to destroy them.......Bush had other motivations that were not discussed publicly.

On the other hand it doesn't detract from all the free people from various jails and torture chambers and the saving of starving children.

Save it for the Voice of America. There are a lot of people much worse off than the Iraqis in this world. I guarantee you we will never do squat for them.

Not to mention the bases in the region and business contracts to push our economy, cheaper oil, etc - look on the bright side, they have a potentially better future.

Now, you're talking.

No matter the WMD issue, it was morally the right thing to do.

If it makes you feel better.........

Very few times does a good thing line up with our national interests, look at Africa.

I am unclear what you mean?
