Digital distribution of movies by a prominent studio is one more indicator of the demise of conventional cinema color film (and also sends a clear warning to Kodak, the world's largest manufacturer of movie film).

There's another development here worth noting. When you send an entire movie via satellite, you are dealing with a truly humongous data base and are demonstrating the viability of wireless communication as the best for both voice and data. The advent of wireless broadband, whether by satellite or ground based stations, connected perhaps by fiber optic lines, opens up a very large market. CDMA2000 is just the tip of the iceberg.
