Haim this is a good starting point for that period.. marxists.org Lenin was kinda practical... less so a dogmatist... dogmatists don't require a whole lot of brain power.. whether they be RW Christians, Zionists, radical uber religious Muslims... etc... Just some book or set of rules to be interpreted by others to let them know how they should think.. (of course that is not thinking at all then is it :) Apparently Lenin understood the need to incentivize the peasants in a positive fashion.. a kinda capitalist twist to let a good amount of animal spirits flow... if all production goes to the government that will NEVER work.. it is just plain UNNATURAL... we need capitalism... but it like anything else needs a few checks and balances for the greater good of society.. capitalism itself is actually required part of that greater good... Lenin's thoughts on the peasants economically were not far different from that which led China out of third world status... Do you think China is a communist country :) really ? One of the biggest questions I got on trips to China was about our health care.. as much as Canucks like to complain about it (myself included at time) it still the envy of 'communuist' countries.. EXCEPT Cuba... something wrong there no ? Canada has a lot of progressive socialist ideas... but we would never kill capitalism either...
