Purple Haze: When Legal Smokescreens Hide Products zdnet.com

Implicit subtitle: Or lack thereof.

If I didn't know better, I'd almost say all this legal mumbo-jumbo could be helping Redmond more than it's hurting them. What better way to obscure sliding ship dates and chaos within product groups than to surround yourself with a 360-degree legal smokescreen? I'm not paranoid enough (yet) to say Microsoft actually planned to bring this legal attention on themselves. I will give the DOJ, SPA, states, lawyers and lobbyists a little credit.

I don't know who this guy is, and of course personally I find the vaporous fog of DNA/DNS and the Web Lifestyle and the undetermined ship date for NT5 almost as entertaining as the legal circus. Who can say?

Cheers, Dan.
