Bottom line is the FCC can do nothing about AOL's modem ratio at this point. However, Reed Hundt has put out feelers that he wants to hear from the general public whether FCC ought to be more active in ensuring quality of service in the online world in the same manner that it does so in telephony.

Of course, state AGs have state consumer protection statutes going for them. Fool em once, the jokes on them. Fool em twice and it's a different story. The AGs may be novices when it comes to online stuff and advertising, but they learn pretty fast.
