1 log equals ten fold reduction
2 log equals one hundred fold reduction
3 log equals 1000 fold reduction
etc

10 to the power of the log number will give you the exact number (as someone else pointed out). More log units reduction means better response to drug.

90% reduction is 1 log unit
99% reduction is 2 log units

So, your presumption was correct.
