I have entered a similar real competition in South Africa ,similar rules.Competition lasts for 3 months ,trading fees 1% per transactionWhat should be the best options?
I have been considering:
.looking at penny stocks--but risky since you may not be able to sell them at the current price in a rush
.look at shares that is very volatile and have a reasonable predictable support/ceiling and use a few to trade in and out of with a profit of 10-15% on a swing and jump from the one to the other(in a perfect world)
.use the known volatility of gold or platinum or oil and trade exposed companies in the same way(buy at support and sell after the volumes taper off, before ceiling is reached)
Obviously this will be ideal if you assume a bull market for the next 3 months.
If not ,what will be a good defensive strategy assuming that a bear market will commence over the next 3 months? Buy stocks with a low p/e?
