Like many of my friends, I’ve become increasingly nervous as election day approaches. But, so far, that’s not the case for VIX. Does a relatively calm VIX indicate Mr. Rogers will be our next president?

Meanwhile, at Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 19.43% YTD (vs. up 20.36% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 18.23% YTD (vs. up 20.54% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 29.18% YTD (vs. up 28.84% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 29.39% YTD (vs. up 28.37% YTD a week ago).
JBOG’s portfolio, still up in the stratosphere with a 239.59% YTD gain, continued as Contest leader. FILO’s portfolio, up 166.91% YTD and MASTER’s portfolio, up 105.46% YTD, held on to second and third place.
At Friday's close, 30 of the 42 Contest portfolios were in the green, with 22 beating the NBI and 15 beating the SPSIBI.
The 197 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 31.08% with the median barely in the green with a YTD gain of 0.22%.
