The original 9/11 attacks were primarily made possible by incredibly weak air travel security in the United States. The U.S. adventure in Afghanistan was a fool's errand. There will likely be a civil war in Afghanistan for years, decades, or centuries. Let the countries on their border deal with it.

The Biden Administration will focus on Afghanistan until more interesting disaster porn is shown on American TV, which may happen this weekend in the Gulf of Mexico and South Lake Tahoe, California.
