KLP: And if you are wondering whether you can use organic unprocessed sugar in canning, the answer is YES.

A friend brought me some fresh Okanagan Apples a few weeks ago, and they were going rotten faster than I could eat them. So, I figured why not try and make apple sauce?

Not being one who likes to follow a recipe, I bought some Rapunzel Rapidura Whole Organic Sugar, some jars, and went to work.

I had to call my Mom a couple of times because I wanted to do things right (like how long to boil the jars, how full to fill them, etc). I made up the recipe as I went, and it turned out great. So, at least for apple sauce, the organic sugar is fine.
