It most likely is a fine entry point for longs. I wonder though if their underperformance isn't due to the merchandise they have selected to sell this year. My wife, who first brought this company to my attention a few years ago told me that for the best part of this year she had found little of interest to buy. She said the non clothes items have actually been better than the clothes.

So maybe the buyers are part of the problem. She is an excellent gauge of women's clothing. She found Talbots about 1980, before they became a name very few people knew about.

There may be a better place for new money for a quarter or so though.
