As far as I know, the follow is true:

1) yes, commissions is added to base cost so both buy/sell commissions is add to your base.

2) IRS will look at this year and last year total income to determine if you are under pay your tax or not. Therefore, suppose your last year income was 100k and this year income + cap. gain is 200k still no problem...

3) As far as sold specify lot I guess you can. But what is the point, most of the time I buy extra cover call is to average down the cost, so when I sold I will sold it all. However, if I want to sold only 1/2 of the entire lot then it is ok, you can specify the lot. ( I guess)...

Any got any idea on this.
