I, for one, also see Verisign have great long-term
potential. Already the dominant player in digital certificate
market, Verisign certainly has the early sign of next Microsoft
or SAP, in digital certificate space. Just imagine how commonplace
online communication has been and will be several years down the road, and how important digital signatures will play in the a
secure and safe virtual community. Verisign's position has so far
firmly established, with its technology embodied by Microsoft,
Netscape, Lucent, HP, and IBM (lotus), etc.
It sometimes make me wonder how far-sighted(or lucky) the early
investors in Microsoft are. I bet that in its early days there
were concerns about Microsoft's valuation also, but history told us that future potential is the key here.
