Hello Bernie,

I am writing to see how many checks have come into you. Although the initial response for the school was very good, it has dropped of precipitously; I am quite sure this has something with the current state of the technology equity market, where most everyone on SI has their money. I certainly hope that this is the case, otherwise we have a lot of people unwilling to lend their support to a very good project.

Let me say in advance I do not expect a large numer from you; either in terms of money totals or total checks received. I would like to add that I will be posting your response for those on the thread who want to know the status of our little project. I am sorry if our project has failed to meet its goal, but I do believe that many people who may have frequented SI on a daily basis several months ago may have tuned out if only to maintain their sanity.

PS. Do you have a need for volunteer teachers at the schools? I am looking to do some traveling/volunteer work sometime in the future. Over the past several months, I have lost about 600K, so I would not feel comfortable doing it now. But I would like to know what type of requirment is required, if any. TIA
