A short lived peak, I'll wager. (Hey I already wagered!)

Look. The ones I'm going to gamble with tomorrow are the October 60 puts. They're currently trading for around a buck.

That's 45 points out of the money and less than a month of time premium left. The point is, a similar option on any "real" stock, say Microsoft or General Motors or Westinghouse would be trading for a few pennies, if anything. The fact that these puts can even now command ANY value at all means that plenty of people are still willing to bet they'll be worth something by Oct expiration.

Hell, half the open interest in puts is likely owned by Amazon insiders as hedges. ;)
