I'm renting here in the Bay Area (Palo Alto)

I'm jealous... I love that area.. Spent 6 months in Monterey when I was in Language School and made monthly road trips up to San Fran.. I could get cheap (and nice) quarters over at the Oakland Army Depot with my girlfriend at the time..

Loved going to the Stinkin' Rose and smelling like garlic for the next 3 days.. ;0)

Also spent a lot of time Scuba diving in the Carmel/Point Lobos area and near the Coast Guard pier down in Monterey.. It could get a bit chilly (I was there over the winter) but not nearly as bad as the east coast..

Not sure about going to France, but maybe because the only reason I'd like to go there is to p*ss on the Eifel Tower.. ;0)

But I'm partial to Spain and the Costa Del Sol area. But property has gotten pricey over there as well..
