Hi Rod: I think we are saying about the same thing when it comes
to chat channels, (1) there are many more IRC channels on the internet
than AOL can say prayers over, and AOL can't get you to them so
they create their own limited version chat.
I add that the AOL system is 16 bit , ( slow ) compared to the
standard 32 bit that is now on the internet. Also AOL is a proxy
that passes you into the internet, but at 16 bits..if people are
not concerned about the underlying techology, then why buy the
new PCs, ? as an old 386 is just as fast on AOL as any new PC..
hence the new PC is handycapped runing the AOL 16 bit winsock,
and having to use their stoneaged tecchology.
Its like you buy a high preformance car, you but don't drive it on
the freeway, but use restricted roads with a speed limit thats
only half the standard.
