New Focus (NUFO) 16.34 -0.83: Reports Q1 loss of $0.04 a share, $0.02 worse than the First Call consensus of ($0.02); revenues
rose 316.7% to $40.76 mln (consensus $39 mln) from a year-ago of $9.78 mln. The 4 cent loss excluded a $28.5 mln inventory
writedown. Company says that it has seen additional order cancellations and push-outs in April and is therefore reducing Q2 revenue
guidance to $28-32 mln vs consensus of $37 mln; will close facilities and will cut employment to 1,200 from 2,100.
