Yes "Reconstruction" in the header of this thread seems sort of quaint now... from a time we thought that tons of resources (the best minds and lots of money) would be thrown at the problem.

If the crime rates continue, you folks might lose the tourists. And if you lose the tourists, I suspect that NOLA will continue to lose population. One of the 3 great cities in the US (IMHO) is going down, and there doesn't seem to be anything anyone can do about it.
