DJ Vertel -2: CEO Declines To Reveal Value Of New Business

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Vertel Corp. (VRTL) snatched up a new, "big name"
buyer of its e*ORB technology recently, but it cannot reveal the customer
due to a non-disclosure agreement, said Chief Executive Cyrus Irani.
Vertel's not able to disclose the name of the optical networking equipment
maker behind the licensing agreement due to the "sensitivity of the
company's project," Irani said in a CNBC interview Tuesday.
Irani wouldn't say how much income he expects from the deal, but said he
expects to see gains when the customer begins deployment of its network.
"When they deploy down the road ... we will see the real dollar signs come
in," he said.
While Irani said he hopes Vertel reaches profitability by the end of next
year, the real focus is revenue, he said. Vertel is looking to increase
revenue through the number of companies that use its technology in actual
network deployment, he said.
