Also, the fact that Bush did not quickly return to Washington was excused by a lie that the Air Force One was targeted.

What reason in the world would the President have for rushing back to Washington with planes dropping out of the sky and ground security unsure of where the next attack was coming from? Doesn't Air force One have state of the art communication equipment to keep in contact with the capital? Secondly, how do you know what was targeted and what wasn't because the media sure doesn't, I don't think anyone does except the terrorists.
