Pair Ceo said that there would be Avidia news(said this last week) in 2-4 weeks. One can interpet his remarks to mean a contract announcement. He pretty muched promised such in the investors conference meeting last week when he referenced a pending clec contract. Todays adoption of the Glite standard bodes very well for pair also as Avidia can be used by clecs and rbocs without the worries of competing or shifting standards. We desperately need some contract news because I feel instinctively that our numbers are going to be soft(hence the sell off by fund managers and the big decline from 16 in the last couple of weeks). Contract news would help focus attention of the fund managers to the 3rd and 4th quarters and not this quarter. Still I think pair is likely to be doubled from this level by Xmas and acquired by this time next year and perhaps even before summer is out. It is by far my biggest holding and I am long and patient as I think we are just a little early to the party, but it is going to be one heck of a party once it gets rolling. Good luck with pair.
