Looks like the move is in response to announcement of marketing
deal with Tele-Save Holdings (TALK) a mid-sized long distance
reseller ($217m rev/$20m net). TALK's up over 20%.

Obviously, TALK's way to small to be potential acquieror.

IMO the deal just means:

1) forget notions of acquisition of AOL by a telco
2) waving a red flag in face of telcos, who now will respond
with more aggressive marketing. US telcos ad expenditures
are $6.1 BILLION/Yr.
