Tom, and all those who sent me notes,
Thank you for your kind words of appreciation for my posts. While one writes on Public Bulletin Boards in order to share with others, it is always particularly nice when peers, who are associated with that industry, take the time to give recognition. So it is that I see from your profile that you are in the Semi industry. I also take note from your profile that three of the seven companies that you own are companies that I also own, INTC, CSCO, and ALTR. I take reassurance from this fact. Tom, I hope that you will continue to post more frequently on this thread.
Paul Engle, Re: Your question to me regarding my opinion of Apple over the next few years. You question implies more optimism than I am willing to predict. I perhaps, would not have used the term "years" in the plural. Apple is in deep dudoo and I really do not see a good way out for them at this point. For me, I think they sold there soul two years ago to IBM, for the promise that IBM would provide an upward migration path to their Mac users via the Power PC. Probably one of the few good moves that IBM has made in the last two years has been this deal. IBM can now lay claim to Apple's customer base. If the Power PC would have been successful it might of been good for Apple, however, now, the agreement is probably a hindrance to Apple in its ability to sell the company.
